2 x EK Books make the shortlist for the West Australian Young Readers? Book Award 2016!

An Aussie Year, written by Tania McCartney and illustrated by Tina Snerling, and Anzac Ted, written and illustrated by Belinda Landsberry, have both made the shortlist for West Australian Young Readers’ Book Award 2016 in the category of best picture book.

The Award operates by inviting young readers to nominate, through their libraries, books that they have enjoyed. These nominations are then considered by the WAYRBA committee.

We love these books and it is good to know that the audience for whom they were written loves them too.

Congratulations to Tania, Tina, Belinda and EK Books publisher Anouska Jones!

Tania McCartney and Tottie and Dot Win Highly Commended for 2105 ACT Writers and Publishers Award

Tania McCartney and Tottie and Dot Win Highly Commended for 2105 ACT Writers and Publishers Award

Congratulations to Tania who has been recognised for her excellent work in Tottie and Dot.

Here's what the judges had to say.. "Tottie and Dot is a charming story which explores friendship and the potential for competition and jealousy. It holds appeal at different levels, whether in the beautiful illustrations, the imagery of the words or the subtle identification with best friends, Tottie and Dot, and their simmering rivalry. Tottie and Dot leaves plenty of room for discussion about the why and how of friendship, fighting and making up". More information about the award is available here.
